В аромате напитка доминируют красные ягоды вроде смородины и клубники, тропические фрукты, зелёное яблоко и цитрусовые, дополненные сливочными и ореховыми тонами, а также нюансами влажной земли, старого дерева и табачного дыма. Некоторые ревьюеры отмечают необычные оттенки бальзамика, уксуса и серы, которые у одних вызывают отторжение, а у других создают привлекательную сложность. The basic data sounds so interesting. Then you see the other reviews and think, hmm, weird. Then you pour the dram and think, damn, that's right :-( I can't do anything with the dram in the nose and mouth. The finish is quite interesting. Dark aromas. A little chocolate. I like the new 14 and 16 much more. 71-80 – Fine, like to drink by time

So, it's a bit unusual on the nose. A slightly acidic wine note with a touch of balsamic is accompanied by a hint of sulfur. The fruitiness of the wine then complements the fruity smokiness of the Bowmore perfectly. There are also some really lovely maritime notes. Unfortunately, the vinegar note doesn't disappear with time. On the palate, a lovely interplay unfolds between wine, dark barrel aromas, and the subtle floral peatiness of the Bowmore. Pleasingly not sweet, but again with a slightly musty sulfur note, less pronounced than on the nose. The finish is quite harmonious with wine and peat, yet rather dry. Let me put it this way: without the vinegar note and the sulfur, even just a hint, it would be really good, as the Bowmore character comes through nicely and the cask contributes well. But I really have a problem with the nose.

A rather pleasant, light whisky with a predominance of burnt notes and creamy sweetness, the depth is not great, but the palette is quite wide, good work with shades and undertones. But many questions arise, for example: where is the peat and smoke? There are plenty of burnt notes here, and ash-mineral notes are present, but they don't feel at all like Islay; it's more like a heavily charred cask. Overall, the release is good, but somehow far removed from the distillery's core profile.

Perhaps because my expectations were rather low, I was pleasantly surprised. It's a nice, smooth, easy sipper. The wine barrels give it a wonderfully fresh and fruity note, which adds a nice touch to the Bowmore distillate. A very nice Bowmore, but can you imagine having this quality at cask strength?

The Pinot Noir is noticeable on the nose. It has a dull, earthy and mineral note, which fits quite well. Unfortunately, the taste is quite watery like its colleagues, although the red wine tannins still give it the most power on the tongue. [86 - 82 = good whisky -> get a bottle? Maybe...] I actually like this one the best from the series. Unfortunately, it gets quite flat towards the end. It's a shame, because this would probably be the only large bottle I would buy otherwise. As it is, it's only enough for a sample.

Bowmore 19 years, Appellations Collection, 43%. Pinot Noir Wine Barrique Finish. Nose: Sweet, but somehow also dirty. Blackberry jam, plum butter with cinnamon and cloves, cocoa. Then there's also the smell of an old wooden house and a damp cellar. Old newspapers amidst freshly lit matches and tobacco smoke. Afterwards, the Bowmore becomes sweeter again, with notes of raw sugar and caramel. Palate: Cherry liqueur with caramel, accompanied by ripe plums, rosemary, and peat smoke. Ripe blackberries reappear, along with occasional hints of dates. This is followed by a mild, spicy oak note. Finish: Rather long, harmonious, continuing the flavor and combining peat with wood smoke, leather, orange zest and cherry pie. I also like the slightly fresh mint. Conclusion: These earthy aromas in the scent are what make this Bowmore truly exciting for me. But be warned, some might also detect aromas associated with sulfur. I personally enjoy that, but this warning is necessary. My final score is 87/100 (2026).

Definitely the worst of the 3 I have tasted (I miss the oldest one), with nothing to say and no depth, an example of how a contemporary whisky should not be made from an excellent spirit.
