Vermutlich ist nicht nur die mystische Anziehungskraft der Landschaft ein guter Grund dafür – sondern auch der einzigartige Single Malt, der hier produziert wird. Records as far back as the 1800’s show that Campbeltown, like much of Scotland, has enjoyed a long-standing love affair with the use of sherry casks in whisky maturation. Given it's fortunate location on the West Coast of Scotland and ease of access to the sea trading routes of the time, it is hardly surprising that Campbeltown enjoyed the first choice of some of the finest sherry casks in the world. So it is fitting that one of our oldest and most refined expressions, the Glen Scotia 18-year-old, enjoys a lengthy twelve-month finish in Oloroso sherry casks, delivering a floral sweetness whilst never masking the renowned distillery character that lies beneath.
